玉村町 歴史資料館

A historical museum with the theme of the permanent exhibition of Nikko Reiheishi Kaido and Tamamura Town. We are exhibiting the history of Tamamura Town, which prospered as a post station during the Edo period, and collecting and researching materials related to Tamamura Town. Located on the 2nd floor of the small home building of the Tamamura Town Cultural Center, the permanent exhibition room is 240 square meters in size.

The Tamamura History Museum, which I wanted to visit, is vacant on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, which is a rare feeling. There was also a special exhibition, so I went to preview. The museum is small, but it is impressive, and there are many booklets of materials, and I received a lot of them. I'll take a look at it later. Going two or three times, there are likely to be new discoveries. This time, I'm running out of time, so I'll go again.

Tamamura Town has a fertile land where the Tone River and Yodo River join, and you can see that it was a historic town where many people lived since ancient times. There are 200 tombs, and you can see that it was the land where Australians lived. During the Edo period, the history of Tamamura Town, which flourished as a post town on the Nikko Empire Highway, was well understood. I felt the meaning of Tamamura Town to keep its own pride, not belonging to Takasaki City or Fujioka City.

The history of the local folk that has continued since the Jomon Period has been summarized so that the summary is easy to grasp. When looking at the permanent exhibition, you can know the history of pioneers' efforts, prosperity, war and natural disasters and decaying and resurrecting. In this way the materials gathered, and I think that there was an investigation of the old tumulus as a background that was easy to understand and fulfilled.
