Komachi Dori

Komachi Dori is the heart of tourist shopping in Kamakura, but should be savored slowly. Instead of quickly walking down the street and missing the magical food or product discoveries, try spending a few minutes going into each store, or reading the menu at each food establishment. After dozens of trips here, we still discover a new local tidbit to eat, or a new item in a store to ogle and consider buying. Just when we think we know the street well (and know some of the shop owners, many of whom are happy to talk), we discover something new to add to our favorites list.

It was my first time in Kamakura and all the blogs I’ve read suggested that I drop by this street before going home. Glad I did because I enjoyed the many different street food offerings they had. Despite the current situation with the pandemic, there were relatively many people on the street. Vibe was nice 👍

Fun shopping street right next to Kamakura station. Full of shops with handmade items, souvenirs and food. You can spend hours just walking through

Easily one of the liveliest places in Kamakura. Don't miss out on all of the wonderful local food, clothes, and trinkets.

It's okay. Crowded like all shop streets.
