I headed from Nasu Kogen. As soon as you go down the side road in front of the tunnel at the pass, you will find a parking lot. The katsura tree is magnificent and powerful. There is a 2.2km promenade along the river nearby.

I visited for the first time in about 30 years. I hadn't had a chance to visit after National Route 289 opened to Shimogo Town, but the old Katsura trees remained the same, and I was overwhelmed by the appearance of many large trees rising from the bottom of the valley toward the autumn sky.

Kenkatsura itself didn't feel much of an attraction, but there are walking paths upstream of the Abukuma River and observation decks along National Route 289, so I think it would be nice to enjoy it as a set.

The katsura tree is certainly wonderful. From here, the new Koshi promenade along the Abukuma River will soon be lost, and the promenade will disappear due to heavy rain. I want a note at the entrance.
