The exhibits are interesting and very good but the interior has been renovated now. It seems that volunteers are just taking care of it. I personally think that it is important to supervise public departments such as cities and towns because they store historically important items.

The late Mr. Yataro Shimizu relocated the building of the brewing business "Oda Family" in Himeji City (it seems to have been very prosperous in Taisho since the late Edo period) and gathered personal items that were collected and investigated by individuals. Pamphlet states that an ethnographic museum was established as a foundation. Dr. Shimizu, who also served as the director, has been dormant and now exhibits and displays materials collected by volunteer staff. Self-portrait of Dr. Shimizu can be seen in the photos. Although the number of collected folk implements is remarkable, the books etc. were also relocated when relocating the `` Oda family '' building, and we got permission to show it but the money for the peasant Lending book records etc. are also left. Some word-of-mouth reviews appear to be "dirty in appearance," but the 350-year-old building is more luxurious and well-maintained than expected, and there is also a housemaid room that was said to have been resident at that time. Is full of charm that cannot be judged from the appearance alone. When I talked to the staff, the room where Mr. Shimizu was active, the books used for research, and the album photos with the people who were interacting were still at the time, but let's organize it If you want to see a sense of life where the director worked as you think, it might be better to be early. One hour passed quickly and I was satisfied when I was looking at the open room and folk tools and looking at the Sara Saju tree in the courtyard. Although it is a perfect place for me personally, this rating is open to the public only on Saturdays and Sundays. On weekdays, it is only possible to make group bookings, so it is not possible to look around on a weekday (together with vacancy) together with a toy museum nearby. The parking lot has a private parking lot. The entrance fee is 400 yen in general. The opening hours are from 9:00 to the pamphlet and the entrance is different from 10:00, but according to the staff, if you open even at 9:00, you will be able to call in It is said that 10: 00 ~ is desirable because we are preparing for cleaning. Also, even on Saturdays and Sundays, there are irregular closing days, and please note that if it is closed due to circumstances, please understand. It is a place where you may find something every time you go. It is recommended in places where you will visit several times.
