Dakigaeri Valley

Visited on November 6, 2020. Autumn leaves are beautiful though their vibrance is tarnished by cloudy weather. No bus service. Taxi costs about 3000 yen one way from the closest shinkansen station.

Beautiful walk or hike along a gorge with amazing scenery any time of the year. Didn't get to go as far as we wanted due to the trail being washed out from typhoon 19 but loved what we did get to see. Absolutely worth the trip for anyone visiting Kakunodate who also loves beautiful nature trails!

I like to stroll around the place. You get to enjoy the view and sound of fountains and rivers. Of course, you need to pick the time to visit there for better view. However, the stroll itself is healing to the soul. Just bear in mind to wear thicker cloths to keep you warm since it’s deep inside, temperature compared to outside is rather low. The only thing was we went during weekday, surprisingly there are many tourists. Since they are following bus tour, you feel that there are rushing around. Aside from this, it is wonderful!
