The Chikuma River is the name of the upstream (Nagano Prefecture) side of the longest Shinano River in Japan. The area that is called “Chikawa” originates from Kawakami Village, Nagano Prefecture. There is a life of rich people, and a beautiful landscape is spreading. However, the typhoon heavy rain has changed the life and landscape of some areas. I hope that the Chikuma River will return to the gentle flow.
