When I went to find the source of Kamogawa, I met on the way. I imagine that the delicate stream sometimes turned into a torrent from such a far distance and became a debris flow that threatened the city. Standing near the weir and listening to the sound of water, you can forget the hustle and bustle of the city and feel completely at ease. In this area, benches are installed, and there are few streets of cars, so you may go out with a lunch box. The sunshine continues for quite a long time.

Upstream Kamigamo (8 minutes by car from Kamigamo Shrine) "Ryo" can be enjoyed easily, parking lot is free ^^ Toilet is complete Multipurpose ground and riverbed will be a place "locals enjoy" in summer ..

About 40 years ago, there were so many red-bellied newts on the dam. There was also a giant salamander that exceeded 1 m under the dam. I'm not here now. I processed the west side of the dam to make it a place for relaxation.

A long time ago, Kamogawa was said to be a violent river and flooded frequently. Built in response to the “Kyoto Great Flood” in 1935, which caused great damage to various parts of the city, including the Kamogawa Bridge, including the Mitake Bridge and Gojo Bridge. To reinforce this, a “Nakatsugawa Sabo Weir” (completed in 1951, height 9.8 m, length 46.0 m) is also provided upstream.
