Great and affordable place to stay! Clean, quiet, and is within walking distance of the samurai village, cherry blossom tunnel, onsen, restaurants and 7-11! There are bikes free to use for guests. Eiko is a warm and welcoming hostess. Also, she speaks English well. I’d definitely return here for the cherry blossom season. Highly recommend!

Great value guesthouse in Kakunodate. Nice and quiet and walking distance to all sites. Friendly owner who speaks great English. Bikes available to explore town. Parking also available. Dorm rooms now also available with a lovely view of the temple behind the property. Note: they now have showers for guests, so no need to go around the corner to the onsen to wash.

We loved this guesthouse!!! The clean, air-conditioned room had big comfy beds, and there was free coffee/tea, a microwave and a nice hot shower in pinewood-lined room round the back in the tool storage area. The owner was wonderfully relaxed and let us use the free bicycles for as long as we liked on our departure day.

Cosy beds, Eiko was an accommodating and charming host - she left us notes and explanations of things when she wasn't home to chat (her English is very good). Her hand drawn map of local area led us to one of the most fun dining experiences too! Izakaya restaurant nearby "very local". She was not wrong!

This inn has a cosy and warm feeling. Owner is hospitable too. Do note that there’s no showering facility at the inn so you would have to go to the nearby onsen which isn’t too far away from the inn. There are free bicycles you can borrow for free to explore the area too.
