Buried forest tree is still kept in the groundwater of the Katagai River for display. The shape and color were unique. Noted on my wonder-tips site.

The root of a cedar about 1700 years ago is enshrined in the self-fountain pool. That's it, but I feel the power. A hundred-year-old cedar sprouted in the land of Uozu long ago, becoming a large tree and reaching its end of life. To leave its appearance in front of us today without decaying due to natural mischief. To be passed on to future offspring by protecting it as a cultural property. You can feel that life is inherited and connected on the earth.

Visit to the Uozu Underwater Forest Museum. Where it is possible to admire these plant remains from thousands of years ago. Very modern museum with a futuristic cone-shaped structure, you can access a panoramic terrace where you can admire the view of the sea with a possible view of the mirage.
