The Nikko Ambassador and Daimyo stayed at Kijima Honjin at Tamamura-juku, but it was burnt down by the great fire of 1868. Employees were dispatched to Nikko Toshogu Shrine for 221 years without interruption, from Shobo 4th year (1647) to Keio 3rd year (1867). Usually, the return route of Nikko Seimonsho goes through the Tokaido, but not only on the outward trip, but on the return trip, the poems written by Yuchocho Ayakoji, the counselor who used the Nikko Seimonsho, have become a stone monument and have left the remnants of that time. "Tamamura's ball-shaped ball that opens "It's back again and again" (Song meaning=This time I successfully completed my mission and returned to Tamamura-juku again, but I pray that Kisoji in front is also peaceful.)

Only the monument is left on the site of the headquarters now, but there are images of post towns with cars going back and forth along the example road (*^^*)
