Kokukan Boon is an aviation museum located in Shinmei Park, where you can get a close-up view of aircraft taking off and landing at nearby Nagoya Airport up close. The museum was created to foster fascination for the sky, and visitors can have fun learning about how aircraft fly and how they’re built. Real aircraft, such as the small business aircraft Mitsubishi MU-2A3 and a helicopter, are on display inside the museum. The museum also has other displays related to the aerospace industry in Aichi Prefecture, as well as a flight simulator where you can experience and learn about flying. Visitors can also go out onto the observation deck on the 2nd floor, where you can see the Nagoya Airport runway and feel the impact of aircraft taking off right in front of your eyes.

Lovely museum space in a pretty, park-like area with great views of planes landing and taking off at airport right next door. No charge for entry. Really enjoyed my visit.

The park is large and wide, but all the trees are small so there's little shade. A lookout tower gives a view of the north end of the runway. The museum is small and has local aviation exhibits. A few grill tables can be reserved but they inspect and demand a spotless grill when you leave... a bit uninviting.
