This is the subway station I usually take as my hotel is nearby. On a map it says it is a transfer station to three subway lines. It can be incredibly confusing and long pedestrian tunnels make the walk uncomfortable (especially when it is hot and stuffy).
Weather permitting, my suggestion is to know the subway lines and walk on the sidewalk. For the Asakusa Line, the line is under Showa Dori. For Ginza Line walk over to Shuo Dori. For Tozai Line, walk to Etai Dori.
Ginza line - Nihonbashi was one of the stations I frequented in August 2017. I had the 3 day Toei/ Tokyo metro pass, so I was trying to abuse it as much as possible.
While I've uses Tozai and Asakusa lines, I've also used the Ginza line to get to other stations.
The other times I've jumped on the Ginza line at Nihonbashi was to get to Ginza or shimbashi stations.

Asakusa line - Yes, I've used all lines going through Nihonbashi station at one point with my 3 day Toei/Tokyo Metor pass. I used the Asakusa line to get to Sengokuji station and temple.
------------------------------------------------
Tozai line - Since I had the Tokyo pass, I used the Toei and Tokyo metro lines as much as possible.
I must have went through Nihonbashi station on all lines at some point!
I took the Tozai line from Iidabashi to Nihonmbashi station.
This was underground and clean.
Its in front of nihonbashi station. Look nice and clean 🙆♀️🙆♀️
Regarding no elevator situation /construction
It is a way you can get to ground level using multiple elevator , ie walking across station , using as much as 3 elevators and one slope walk like we did from d3 exit( concourse/ noriba) to b9 elevator.
Noted that belle salle elevator at b6 is good too.
And if u had lot of luggages pls avoid travel to this station as initial or terminal point
For a month, this station properly the only station which is easy to get direction and around.
