Stumbled across this place by accident. It is an old walking street market. The interesting thing is that it is the market place of the people in the community. There are no tourists at all, there are barber shops, flower shops, restaurants and selling all kinds of daily necessities, affordable prices, love it so we can see the real life of people here People are very cute, smiling and welcoming.

Furukawamachi Shopping Street: Stars ★★★★★ 5 Summary: It is a shopping street that has been around for a long time due to the location of the front shopping street in Chion-in. It used to be called the Nishiki Market in the east. At present, the retro and the modern retro (a new building with a retro taste) are mixed. It is an arcade with a thin and narrow Showa-like warmth. The colorful lanterns hang from the ceiling, making it very emotional. This is also the place where the UNIQLO catalog was shot.

An old-fashioned shopping street in Kyoto. Many shops now have shutters closed a little. There are guest houses as well as Japanese restaurants, ramen shops, and greengrocers. It is close to Chion-in Temple and Maruyama Park, and it is a fun place to walk around for sightseeing.

I stopped by when I walked from Yasaka to Higashiyama station. It's usually thriving, but it was quiet when I went. It's fun to have cafes and butchers

Furukawamachi Shopping Street, which was often visited by David Bowie in his life. Furukawamachi Shopping Street in Kyoto, which even said, "I want to go back to Japan anytime, I think I'll eventually go to Kyoto" There is also a shop with a picture of him buying "Hachiman Maki", It is a shopping street that is unique in Kyoto. It's not a big and long shopping street, but Compared to other shopping districts, guest houses and dormitory houses The big thing is the depth of generous reception of travelers and tourists. It may be a proof of the place that David Bowie loved in his life.
