Japan's first museum dedicated to yokai. They have an extensive collection of materials displayed in a way that is fun for all ages. TeamLab was involved in many of the multimedia displays here.

One of the awesome museums Japan! The real scrolls from Yumoto collection were very cool. The way they are using digital displays were very neat. You can also take pictures!! The restaurant next to the museum is also nice. One thing which I was sad about was they don't take credit card. I hope they will fix that before the next time I come back.

The first yokai museum in Japan has opened up! Housing a vast selection of amazing artwork donated by one of Japan's to yokai experts, Yumoto Koichi, this place is very impressive. The amount of yokai art here is incredible. You can see and even photograph original books, famous prints, and scrolls from hundreds of years ago. A few life sized yokai sculptures are on display too. The high tech digital touch screens are utilized very well and hello make the experience fun for people of all ages. There is a lot of English, so it's possible to enjoy the museum without Japanese language. The museum is located in Miyoshi, the epicenter of the Ino Mononoke Roku, a very famous yokai-themed book. It also houses a great deal of art related to that story. It's wonderful to be able to see yokai artwork in the very city where the stories took place. If you're a yokai fan, this museum is a must-see!
