Fantastic chips. Everything else was average.
The dry pumpkin and raw chicken was amazing. Much more satisfying than Kerry's dry snatch which has definitely been around. Unlike Henry, we could easily finish our steaks because we are not pathetic little weaklings.
I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary on New Year’s Day.
Our steaks were incredible quality and the sides where huge!
We struggled to finish the meals as they were so big! The staff were prompt and extremely helpful with the bar staff bringing our drinks out quite quickly. We would 100% recommend this place to anyone travelling Hakuba and we will be back a few more times before we leave town.
A great experience in a small Japanese village. The staff are very friendly, with a menu that is well priced and boasting with various western foods that is available for those looking for a break from traditional Japanese cuisines.
It was a Bradbury Fiasco. There was raw scallop on the steak. It was a very salty steak. Eye fillet cheap cut and tasteless mashed potato cold. The chicken wings were closer to medium rare than the steak. Henry couldnt finish his steak. The chips were good.
Took over an hour from sitting down to get entree. They brought out the garlic toast that was an entree for kerry and nothing else. Then they brought out the sides for the main meal! What. Where are the wings and the two calamari entrees? “Sorry, kitchen hasn’t got the calamari ready.” We asked for the sides to go back until after the calamari entree came out. Then the mains came out before the entree still!
No steak knives ever arrived for our steaks But the manager who was sitting at another table went and grabbed them from the kitchen for his table. The steak was to come with “endless fries” but they didn’t bring any at all until we asked and then they cooked some and brought them to us. The cocktails were very very very slow. The poor old serving staff were VERY inexperienced. The manager keeps leaving his table to see what may be happening in the kitchen. One lady at his table sent her meal back. Another had to get a couple of bottles of water. Did I mention the cold pepper sauce?
The pumpkin? The pumpkin? It made two appearances because of its early disclosure ahead of the entree. But we think it had been around for a while. By gee, it was dry. That pumpkin has been around! The bearnaise sauce graced the breakfast table first and Kerry’s mushroom sauce had no mushrooms. But it was well chilled.
