Friendly small bar with great liquor selection. Beef / pork or chicken steaks with salad bread and mash is available till 8:30pm Relaxed vibe playing ski / snowboard videos with great music in back ground. English ok. Cash only. Non smoking.

Noji, the owner is a great guy.... He's lived in Nozawa for 10 or more years and his English is good enough to have a conversation. Good atmosphere of you like a fairly quiet, low key place. Ask for the local Sake.

Had great shabu shabu here with my family. The food was delicious. It may seem pricey compared to other food in Nozawa, but I think it was good value given how much you get (it is a big, filling meal). We got the shabu shabu and all you can drink (for 1.5 hours) package which cost ¥5000 per person. The seating is traditional tatami mats, so shoes off and legs crossed. Make sure when you book you don't book for a kid who won't be eating and drinking alcohol, otherwise you will get charged for them
