This place is really a great little adventure. It's not much of a hike about 600m or so and mostly stairs so the whole family can make it. The monkeys were adorable and the staff makes sure the humans don't get hurt or do anything to irritate the monkeys as they are free to roam the mountain side. They have a sheltered area for people to go in when feeding the monkeys so that there is a safe barrier. There's also a beautiful view of Kyoto from the monkey park area.

Definitely a must visit place. It’s so fun to see the snow monkeys close up and watch their activities. Most of them would be busy looking for lices. To reach this you might have to do a small trek of around 20 minutes. Apart from these cute creatures the view of Kyoto city form top is amazing. If you are going there around evening time wait for the food show. You will definitely not regret it. It’s around 4 pm

One of my favorite Kyoto attractions. Awesome monkeys that you can feed, and amazing views of the city. Easy recommendation if weather is nice and you don't mind a 10-15 min walk uphill.

It's a short hike to the dwelling place of the monkeys, the view of the forest along the path is truly amazing, especially if you're lucky enough to see one or two monkeys stray away from the pack whilst practicing the parkour-like moves along the precariously placed tree branches. At the top, the monkeys are quite calm and the view from atop the hill is also worth taking in.

Said on website it would be open till 4pm but when we got there at 11am it said sorry mountain is closed. Please update your website if youre going to close the mountain. Thank you
