I have done this tour twice. The second time with my family. First time really good with tour guide KC. Interesting and informative and a very enjoyable lunch.
Second time totally different. Guide was not that good and the lunch appalling. Worst food we had in Japan.
Good luck trying to communicate with Sunrise Tours if you have any issues. I can understand the quality of guides may vary (but all should be good) but the lunches were leagues apart and the itinerary was different.
The half day Kyoto tour and half day Nara tour was okay. Terrible meal in a depressing hall. Lots of driving around to pickup customers in the morning and afternoon portions. The guide spoke really broken English and shared little information. They recommended a conveyor belt sushi restaurant in the location of the office with a video on the bus at the end. We went for the convenience and there was a cockroach on the table! It was disgusting. How dare this company recommend an unclean restaurant then high pressure sell it to customers with a video misrepresenting what you get!
I always use JTB when I am over in Japan, the tours are great and fantastic value for money.
The staff are so nice (always are in Japan) and helpful .
Did my Mt Fuji and Hakone tour from Shinjuku in November and really had a wonderful experience with their service and our lady tour guide who was very energetic and fun!
Great professional tour guide and organized. Tour bus was well planned and on time. Tour driver was courteous and safe. Tour guide was informational and kept the group together.
