There aren't as many supermarkets that I've been to in Japan, but the impression of a much more suburban, quieter market is excellent. Although some products are a bit more expensive, the variety is broad and the service simple. Great for a shopping grocery trip, even though the prices are only slightly cheaper than in your local FamilyMart or convenience stores.

I go there once in a while. It's close to the self-checkout, but the cashier will move the basket. That helps a lot. There are many bargain items, so I just buy too much.
