Itasuke Kofun

The 8th nationally designated historic site is located in the center of the Mozu Burial Mounds. The haniwa that was excavated has become a symbol mark for the protection of cultural assets of the city, as it was saved by a civil movement that was about to be destroyed by the housing construction. 〒Around the center of the Mozu Burial Mounds is a front-back tumulus with the front facing west, and there were several burial mounds that are said to be a mound. It is said to have been built in the first half of the 5th century, and has a total length of about 146 m, a rear circle diameter of about 90 m, a height of about 12.2 m, a front width of about 99 m, and a height of about 11.4 m. Has a creation. There are stones and haniwa, and a haniwa with an angled horn is excavated from the rear circle. Located at the southern end of the plateau, there is a large dike on the south side of the moat. Approximately 1955, this tomb was about to be destroyed due to the construction of a house, but it was preserved by the civil movement. At the time, the haniwa from the rear circle was found as a symbol of Sakai City's cultural property protection.

It is an old burial mound that looks painful due to the decayed concrete bridge and trees being cut, but thanks to the conservation activities of the local residents, I am grateful that I can still see it. Mr. Tanuki seems to be a burial mound resident, but I couldn't meet him on the day of the walk. But terrapin? Came close to me. I wonder if Mr. Tanuki will come out next ...
