It is one of the four remaining tumuli in the city (Chausuyama Tumulus = Tennoji Ward, Okachiyama Tumulus = Ikuno Ward, Shotenyama Tumulus = Abeno Ward, Tezukayama Tumulus) and is a keyhole-shaped tumulus in the early 5th century. There is also a theory that it is located on a hill in the northern part of the ward, served as a high-ranking official in the Yamato court, and was the tomb of Otomo Kanamura, a powerful family who had a residence near here. The existing mound is the only one in the city that retains its original shape as a keyhole-shaped tumulus.

A front tumuli from the end of the 4th century to the beginning of the 5th century, built on the Kamimachi plateau. Total length 88m. Originally, there were other tombs of the royal family, such as the Great Teizuka Tumulus, the Bentenzuka Tumulus, the Nihonmatsu Tumulus, and the Bandai Tumulus, but they were destroyed by the later generations of Miyagi, temples and shrines, and houses. . The tombs around here should have been clearly visible from the sea. The ship from the continent may have been the first landmark to be noticed.
