The best way the reach the cave is by riding a cab from the city center (¥710, about 15 minutes), since it is somewhat away, and the road is uphill. The admission fee is ¥1,100. It is the 7th in length in Japan. The visit will take about half an hour. Be aware that water is dripping from the ceiling and the path might be slippery. There is a resting area and a souvenir shop at the exit. You can page a cab back at the admission office. This might be one of the few attractions in downtown, so it is worth the visit.
The experience is a bit short for the price in my opinion. A bit too many man-made things around for someone who is looking for a more natural experience. The paths are well lit and safe though. Lots of closed off areas for safety.
It's a good place to come to if there is bad weather and not much left to do in ishigaki . Wear shoes since it can get a bit slippery.
If you've been to a stalactite cave before, this is probably a place you can skip. I enjoyed the cave. It was like a long, well light labyrinth. Interesting natural formation. It was very touristy though in the sense that there is a photographer in the cave asking if you want to take a photo. You do have to pay I don't remember how much exactly but it was around 2000 yen and the price to get in was I think 1700 yen per adult ticket. It's pricey to get in as it is. There is a gift shop also and free parking on the site as well as toilets. The person I was with thought it was expensive and not worth it but we had been to a couple of stalactite cave before in other countries.
The reviews do this place justice, its definitely worth a trip. The caves are decorated beautifully and it's very, very large! Really cool gift shop too that accepts credit cards! You need to drive here, I tried walking the day before and Google maps took me somewhere else!!
