Much disappointed. This is not an hotel! We did not see the owner to be able to complain. The husband was not talking to anybody (honestly I am not sure if this is an Australian culture?) The living room was a big mess... Look like my garage : plastic box stacked to make a table. The fridge is not in the kitchen area, but in the middle of the living room. This look like a youth hostel.... But with the price of a 4 star hotel. Far from the Myoko village center.

It was totally not as described! Horrible place. It was so dirtty & filthy Owners are total thieves to tell this is a 2 star location! (I do not understand how internet hotel brocker accept this). And they charge high price! The fridge is in the middle of the main living room. And when we came in it was so dirty (there seem to be some dirt foam from last year). we went to the supermarket to purchase cleaning sponges (as there are no in the hotel!). And we clean the common fridge by ourselves. Near the fridge there is a second fridge... Broken (still in the main living room). We just used it as a counter. A small gaz heater (Japanese style) was used to hear the big living room. Too small it was cold ( except 1m from it). The common bathroom had black stains on the wall (my daughter did not want to get in at all). We gave up and ended up going to the local onsens everyday. Honestly I believe the kitchen is out of Japan safety and cleanly essay laws. With gaz pipes unprotected, electricity seems brokens. Do NOT use the oven, it make bad smell all over the living room. Do NOT touch any of the condiment/oil/herbes these are from 2-3 years ago (I guess), the greasy bottle will stick to your hands. And there a fractals of miss inside (nice!) Do wash your self all the dishes BEFORE using them as they are now cleanly watched and stored on the floor. The owners have no sense at all if how to handle recycling. There are likes of trash in the entrance of the kitchen! I. The room, DO check the heater and clean the air filter by yourself (might not have been done for 3 years).

I had a great experience here:) Nora is a terrific host. This was my first time skiing in Japan and I was finding it pretty tricky to plan everything out back in Oz but when we got in, Nora helped us figure everything out from renting skis, to buying groceries and even taking one of our party to the hospital when he got injured. I was really keen to find a self catering lodge as I have pretty bad food allergies and have had issues eating out at Japanese restaurants. Chalet Myoko accommodated for me perfectly. The kitchen is well fitted out with everything you could need and we were able to make a few supermarket runs to pick up provisions. It was super easy to get to the snow as well. The village bus stop is only a few minutes walk up the road. Highly recommend this place if you're planning on a Japanese ski holiday and aren't super familiar with the area or with the Japanese language.
