2019.12.25Visit There are many large tumuli built in the 4th and 5th centuries in the Mami hills in the western part of the Nara basin, and they are called Mami tumuli. Sueyama Tumulus is one of the largest tombs, and is the core of the tombs concentrated in the center of the hill together with the surrounding Shinkiyama tumulus (reference site for tombs), and is designated as a National Historic Site. The front tumuli are 210m in length, 118m in diameter at the back, about 17m in height, 96m in width at the front and about 15m in height. Turn the front north. The mound is built in three steps. Around the moat and outer levee, there is a further courtyard zone. The construction date is at the end of the 4th century. Currently, the surrounding moat and outer levee are under repair.

Mami Hillside Park is a Nara prefectural facility that has a number of Mami ancient tombs on its premises. The Sumiyama Burial Mound is the largest and central among the central group of the Mami Burial Mounds. It is a north-facing rear tumulus, but its central axis is slightly northeast. There is a wide moat around the mound, lying like a Nakashima floating in the water moat. The 204-meter mound length is the 30th largest in Japan, with a rear circle diameter of 110 meters, a height of 25 meters, a forward width of 94 meters, and a height of 21 meters. The top of the rear circle has flat terrain with a diameter of 45 meters.

The length of the hill is 204m (23rd in the whole country), and it is estimated that the construction time was from the end of the 4th century to the beginning of the 5th century. One of the burial mounds that make up the Bamiko burial mound group. There is a theory that the burying person is Mr. Ibaraki of the powerful family. Below, from Geroing Town web page. "The Sugayama burial mound is a fore-turn enclave that was built when the tomb area of Daio moved from Saki to Kawachi, and is considered to be almost the same time as Tsudo Shiroyama burial mound in Fujiidera city, Osaka. The arrangement and arrangement of the waterfowl-shaped mulberry are very similar. " ̄ o)) / You can see the replicas that were excavated from the Sugayama burial mound at the Guang Ling Town Cultural Property Conservation Center. It seems that I can only do weekdays (Sorry)
