We had finished our sake tasting trip to Fushimi and were heading back to the station when we saw this place. It just looked so sweet and a lovely place to have a little bit more delicious sake. The couple who owns the place is delightful. Our sake sampler was so enjoyable and the snacks we had were 美味しかったです! Wow, handmade tofu skins and the fermented bonito with cream cheese - wow! The place is cozy and welcoming, and both the husband and wife are so friendly and kind. We'll be making another trip to Kyoto and Fushimi just to stop by here. ありがと　ございます

Visiting this sake bar was one of the best things we did in Japan! I'd give it 6 stars if I could! The lady running the bar was very friendly and welcoming to us. She provided a sake tasting and explained the different types of sake. She explained to us that she had only been learning English for a short time, so was nervous talking to us. We found her English to be very good! Her husband arrived later on and we spoke to him about sake, Kyoto, Japanese food, the weather, climate change and the current news. We ended up staying here for over 3 hours, and when we left, both the husband and wife accompanied us outside and waved goodbye as we walked down the street. We will be telling all of our family and friends to visit Sake Cafe Fu when they come to Kyoto! Thank you for having us! Chris and Kate from Australia (8 January 2020)

This is the place to go if your really want a Sake tasting experience. We stumbled into this place on a rainy day and got an amazing experience! The owner and his wife are the nicest people, and they have relationships with local breweries as well as others in different regions. As a result, the owner is extremely knowledgeable about sake regions and will help you identify the taste that suits you. Get away from the tourist traps and get to this place for an authentic sake tasting.

Very good sake. Great price. Knowledgeable bartender (spoke excellent English) told us about the types of sake, how it is made, and was willing to answer all of our questions and tell us all about Kyoto.

We stumbled upon this place in February, but forgot to write a review back then - I only realised when I found the business card. This place is AMAZING! Mr and Mrs Watanabe and are delightful and have opened up such a fantastic place. My husband and I had a sake tasting and ended up staying for a good few hours :) The sake was great, the food amazing and the couple were so so nice. One of our best hang outs in Japan!
