Heading north along the route 9 you will notice a torii gate to this shrine on your right. This is Kute Shrine. The shrine was established here when the spirit of deity in Matsuo Taisha in arashiyama was transfered to this location. The elegant architectural feature of this shrine from Muromachi Period is designated as an important cultural asset of Tamba. The deity enshrined here is the founder of Tamba destrict.

A shrine along Route 9. Red shrine appears in forest which does not feel bustle of national highway.
