I’m not a fan of haiku but this was enjoyable. Probably because I speak Japanese. They did have a headset with English narration that you could borrow for free. Also, there is a nice garden you can walk around.
Hakusan City is a memorial hall for Chiyojo in Kaga, a poet who represents the Edo period, and is a place for citizens to easily learn haiku and seasonal words from adults to children.
In particular, the seasonal words of the four seasons drawn on all four walls of the permanent exhibition hall are a masterpiece. You will also be healed by the well-maintained courtyard.
Mainly on display are female poets from the Edo period
I was not impressed because I was not very interested in haiku
The Chiyo women's village haiku hall provides opportunities for citizen exchanges, mainly haiku, in order to inherit the rich cultural soil cultivated by many haiku people including the Kaga no Chiyo women's early Edo era "Chiyo women" , Opened as a facility to support the creation of new cultures in October 2006 (2006). At Chiyo no Sato Haiku Hall, we introduce chiyo women and many other haiku poets using images, works, phrasebooks donated, etc, and also have corners that allow kids and foreigners to enjoy haiku I will. In addition to hosting haiku projects such as Chiyo Women's National Haiku Tournament and Boys and Girls Haiku Tournament, Haiku enthusiasts also use it as a casual place for haiku.
Chiyojo's haiku in the lobby
I scrutinized.
