Lovely place to walk around the castle. Didn't get into the castle. Near to Kenrokuen garden.
There is no much to say there are many things TO SEE throughout the year this historic building will delight your trip with it's a stunning beauty and rich story
There are free of charge short guided tours in English performed by some well educated polite Japanese people.

An authentic Japanese Culture Landmark
I did not pay to see the castle but walked around the grounds. It was a lovely walk. Such a beautiful castle with lots of space for my active, elementary-aged boys to run. This is one of the few places we could walk on the grass.
Hubby took the boys into the castle and they adored it. For kids who see into military stuff, this is a great place to go. For people like me who enjoy taking photos, the grass is all brown in November but there are not as many tourists.
