Free and interesting historical museum of the MPN. I liked the elderly police officer at the entrance who welcomed me to ‘come on in’ as the place is free of charge. You know, police officers generally like me because I look absolutely innocent. As in someone who would never do something wrong. I went in and looked around. It's definitely worth a visit, with your kid if you have one, or if you are a foreigner and don't even know what MPN is. I still don't... although I think it may be the Municipal Police of Nippon or something.

This place was excellent to visit for a couple hours or so with my two boys (3 and 5 years old). Variety of excellent interactive exhibits explaining how forensic crime labs do their work. On top of all that, it’s free. One tip since many of the interactive exhibits are in Japanese only: use the Google Translate app with its camera-based translations—even though the translations aren’t perfect, they were good enough for me to understand what my kids were supposed to do and made our time at the museum much better than it would have been otherwise.

I think koban are so cool. I take a picture of every single one I come across. So finding this museum and knowing it was free felt like a birthday present. The language guide was free as well. A good hour was spent here going through the history and system of the Japanese police. My favorite part? Number 16. You can step into a simulation koban. Their police system is truly different in a friendly way. But they informed me Hawaii, New York, and Brazil are testing this kind of police system. Now I have to find time to go there and see their koban.

Great place to take your children if in Ginza. It is free of charge. Children of all ages and adults alike could look at the history of Tokyo/Japan Police. Take photos in a helicopter or Police Bike wearing rented uniform (for young kids only). It is also a great place to teach your kids about safety and adults could also learn a thing or two. There are different interactive games ranging from identifying people to forensics. It has been recently updated to include English in the games and descriptions which was very useful.
