Very nice museum in the most pintoresque village in the Japanese alps. Lots of cute details and views into history. Most houses can be visited from the inside. Very worth a visit.
Open air museum in Shirakawa-go where the houses were transferred from different villagrs in the region to there, so they can preserve this special culture.
Peaceful and serene, not over populated. Lovely scenery and backdrop. Its just wonderful standing there and absorbing everything. Simply loved it!!!
It's like an open air museum, very picturesque during autumn with the foliage framing the thatched houses. You can enter the house too but take note you'll need to take off your shoes. Very pleasant to walk around
Lovely place to just wander around and marvel at these enchanting old houses, set amongst serene and peaceful mountains
