(This is for a peak season experience) The space is too small to fit all the tourists and the waiting line can easily become very chaotic since no one helps organize the lines. But luckily there are many buses so if you can’t board one bus, there’ll usually be another one shortly after.

Great place for a stopover. Shirakawa-go is on Unesco world heritage list. Can see why. But if you don't get your mind blown from the rural life, skip staying here overnight and just make a few hours stopover to walk through the village and up the hill to observation castle deck. It was snowing when I got there. Bad for photos but quite the experience!
