Of the heavy rain in northern Kyushu that occurred in July 2017 Ukiha Station was used for disaster volunteer activities. Very nostalgic as a person visiting the site, I pray for the reconstruction of the disaster area.

Ukiha Station is a station on the Kyudai Main Line of JR Kyushu, and it opened in 1931 (Showa 6) as Chikugo Senzoku Station of the Ministry of Railways. In the JNR era, it was known as Chikugo Sensoku Station, but in 1990 after privatization, it was renamed to "Ukiha Station" in line with the old town name (Ukiha Town). This is a ground station with two relative platforms and two lines. The station building is from the time the station opened.

Ukiha is a station in the center of the city where the station building has a modest impression. I thought that it would be an unmanned station, and I was surprised to see station staff inside. Furthermore, when you open the entrance door, the bright sightseeing signboard in front of the platform jumps into your eyes and you are even more surprised. A little trick can make tourists feel surprised, but the station is too lonely for the nearest station of Harazuru Onsen.
