I visited the musuem with the history of Kami-kaze and the airplanes with fuel not enough to return back: it touched me deeply. A must to see place

The YOKAREN Peace Memorial Museum and the Yokaren Museum on the JGSDF Camp Tsuchiura, are two small museums close to Tokyo, they tell the military history of the Navy base that use to be here. The museum has a Zero fighter plane replica and a Kaiten suicide submarine on display. The Zero, Kaiten and the smaller Yokaren Museum are all free to see. The JGSDF Camp has several tanks on display, including the only Chi-Nu tank left, but there all of limits to the public.

This is a Japanese memorial museum to the young kamikaze pilots of World War II. It's a beautiful museum and very thoughtfully laid out. It tells the story of recruitment, training and the eventual duty of these young pilots. You do need to know Japanese or have someone that knows Japanese to fully understand the story. There is very little English available.
