Delicious gyukatsu. Worth the price. Gyukatsu cooked Perfectly. Tender and juicy. You can add more gyukatsu with cheaper price when you order their set menu. All my family loves it. My mom and children always say that it is very delicious and really looking forward to eating it again when we go to kyoto.
Together with my family take our dinner and we order different menu, all are so delicious and the meat is so tender.
We dined here on a rainy day and honestly the taste and service blew our expectations. This was personally one of the highlights of our stay in Kyoto and better than the other famous gyukatsu spots elsewhere. The meat was extremely tender, and splurging on a higher grade steak was well worth it. Price was very very reasonable, rice and cabbage can be refilled at no charge (and the rice with barley is super delicious too). The staff was extremely helpful and went beyond with our requests, was very patient and tried her best to communicate with us. My mother doesn't like rare meat and when we tried to ask for it to be cooked more she didn't hesitate to bring us a little grill to cook it on. Thank you so much, we're definitely looking forward to our next trip to Kyoto to eat here again!
The beef was very good, but the sauces are what makes it fun and delicious. I don't think the meat is the highest quality, which seems to be the point given how it is prepared. It is still tasty enough to be eaten on it's own, however. The free rice and miso refills also make it a great value. If you like gyukatsu, this place is for you.
This franchise has become my favourite food of the trip, despite having had beef that costed 10 times more. The magic is in the sauces, truly. The beef is nothing to write home about, and the most expensive dish tastes very similar to the least expensive one (yes, I have been eating here almost daily...what am I doing with my trip to Kyoto, sigh), but the sauces and toppings are so darn delicious! Tip: for hungry people, there's an option to refill the beef for 600 to 800 Yen, and the rice, soup and tea are free to refill; you know what to do ;)
