Tenri Station

It used to be the only elevated station in the prefecture before JR Nara Station was elevated. JR used to shunt passenger cars and railcars by making the most of the platform on the 2nd and 4th lines when there was a Tenrikyo event in order for Tenrikyo to enter. The marshalling yard on the north side of the station is currently electrified, and some of the trains on the Yamatoji line will be sent from Nara to Tenri to dawn. Kintetsu felt lonely at a stretch after the express train bound for Kyoto during the day was abolished due to the previous timetable revision, but even so, on the 26th day of Tenrikyo every month, a special express train directly connected to Kyoto was operated. There are also many temporary express trains to Namba and Kyoto. For those who like railways, this is one of the most interesting stations in Nara prefecture.

The JR platform is an elevated station of an island-type platform with two lines and four lines on the edge of a single line. Kintetsu platforms have a lively atmosphere suitable for double track sections, and sometimes express trains also come. It is also famous as the nearest station for Tenrikyo and Stamina Ramen.

Transfer station for JR Manyo Mahoroba Line (Sakurai Line) and Kintetsu Tenri Line. However, it seems that there are not many people who change between both lines. Both stations had a special home for temporary trains, so it was a great feeling.

At the exit of Tenri Station, JR and Kintetsu are almost together, which line is very convenient. There is an introduction to Tianli City at the exit, and you can also learn about it. The white stepped square is where children play. There is a convenience store nearby. But I feel that there are few places to eat.
