Loved this place immensely. American Rock fan here as well as a big fan of Kyoto beyond the fork of the Kamo (if you understand then this review is for you) and Takeshi's place just adds to the many reasons why.

Small cozy little bar ran by Takeshi-san. Focuses on foreign whiskey, no local alcohol.

A homely music bar. Although I live in Minami Ward, there are drinking shops around me, but if you pay the same money, it is worth going even if you always drink non-alcoholic beer. It takes 20 minutes by car to go late after work. You can experience not only delicious sake but also the master character, the warmth of the people there, and the nostalgic atmosphere. At first glance, it looks like a cool master, but it's versatile, knowledgeable, and never gets tired of talking.

I visited again in October 2020. As before, the master will put on a gokigen lock. I will upload a photo of the recent inside of the store. A rock bar on Kitashirakawa Dori. The store isn't very large, but it's a fun place to have rock conversations between rock lovers and friendly masters. Recommended for those who like rock as well as those who like music. There are special curry (mini ¥ 300 full ¥ 650), yakisoba (¥ 600), yaki udon (¥ 500), Napolitan (¥ 700), hot sandwich (¥ 550), etc. It is a restaurant where you can eat until around 02:00 midnight. Smoking is allowed inside the store.
