An alright station. Considering how this is the countryside, the service is certainly not up to par with larger cities. However, they do their best, and the trains run on time.

The Uetsu Line system is also divided here. The north side of this station is operated by 701 series, and the south side is operated by GVE400 series, Kiha 100 series and 110 series. Diesel trains are used even though they are electrified sections because there is a dead section in between and using diesel trains leads to cost reductions rather than preparing AC / DC trains. By the way, in-car ticket inspection is often done between Sakata and Murakami. When I got on the train, the ticket inspection came as soon as I left Sakata
