용산공원 갤러리 Yongsanpark Gallery

Yongsan Park Gallery(용산공원 갤러리) was Camp Kim, a U.S. Army base in Seoul, Korea. The place and building was used as U.S. Army facility for 73 years and now open to the public. It looks just two old small building from the view from outside, but I am sure this is a real good learning place of modern history about Yongsan, Japanese colonization and how U.S. Army stationed in the heart of the capital in the Korean peninsula. I highly recommend to ask docents to guide the exhibition. They're really professional and you'll learn alot from them.

용산공원 갤러리. 원래 미군기지 일부로 캠프킴 이라고도 함. 용산기지 버스투어가 여기서부터 진행된다. 전시물을 관람한 뒤 참가자들이 회의실에 모이면 담당관 분께서 용산기지에 대한 전반적인 설명을 진행하고 대기 중인 버스에 탑승해서 본 기지 내로 이동하게 된다. 용산문화원 홈페이지를 통해 신청하면 추첨을 하여 참가자를 선정하게 되는데 올해는 코로나 19 때문에 진행하지 않는 듯 하다.

Quiet but not boring and good. In particular, the second floor plan exhibition room where you can relax and enjoy the story of elementary school children in the cafe and the base is bright and you can feel the difference between the outside and the inside. The heating was good and it wasn't cold.

It was always a building where there was a checkpoint, but there was an interesting gallery. It's free even if it's not wide
