New Philadelphia Church Busan (English Ministry)

New Philadelphia Church is a spirit filled community! Attended a few times as an expat, found the community welcoming, attentive, and most importantly in tune with sound biblical doctrine. The pastor, Caleb Lee is extremely humble, personable, genuinely compassionate and without doubt called to ministry. His story and background is unique, without question! When I attended with family, the children's ministry was small, however welcoming. What I appreciated most about New Philly Busan (apart from the beach, within a few minutes walk) was the fellowship, intimacy and amazing praise/worship! For anyone who loves the Lord and is looking for an English speaking community to worship God in Spirt & Truth, you must stop by New Philly Busan! -KB

New Philly Busan is great! There is freedom in worship and the message is full of truth but also funny. The community is very diverse and very welcoming. There's also a nursery and a children's ministry room. Clean bathrooms and an elevator are a major plus as well, not to mention the great location! My wife and I visit from Seoul every year and this is our go-to church.

New Philadelphia Church is made up of several church campuses. While I was there I met some of the most wonderful people. However, there was found to be significant fear, control and spiritual abuse. The lead pastors (based in Seoul) were asked to resign and did. Other senior leaders also stepped down. Since then I have heard that considerable positive changes have been made. I think it is worth pointing out though, that the Busan campus pastors are the same leaders that were leading at the time of the abuse. Their response to those that had been hurt was that they needed time to work out what they had done wrong, so that their apologies would be sincere....we are 2 years on from that, so I can only assume they have yet to figure it out.

This church really changed my life. The people are very warm and welcoming. Pastor Caleb is very funny and truly cares about the congregation. I'd definitely recommend this church to anyone seeking a relationship with Christ.

Great place to worship at! Love the welcoming and family experience in New Philly Busan. We had lunch fellowship around the area after service, followed by ice cream! Will definitely drop by again when back in Busan :)
