If you visit Busan, you must visit this place. This place is the perfect place for the education, the best place for the self-reflection, and the excellent place for the introspection. We should and we must visit this place at least just for a moment. And then need to pray for our heroes who are sleeping in this calm and glorious place.

The UN memorial cemetery is a beautifully maintained tribute to those who lost their lives in the Korean War. At 1000 and 1600 a flag raising is put on for the UN flag. Flowers are available for purchase to commemorate a specific grave or for the commonwealth graves.

Beautiful architecture and well kept grounds. Excellent memorial to all the armed forces who served. (Google Maps is not providing access to all the other beautiful pictures I took. I will try again later.)

The United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Korea, located at Tanggok in the Nam District, City of Busan, Republic of Korea, is a burial ground for United Nations Command (UNC) casualties of the Korean War. It contains 2,300 graves and is the only United Nations cemetery in the world. Laid out over 14 hectares (35 acres), the graves are set out in 22 sites designated by the nationalities of the buried servicemembers. The cemetery is designated as Site 359 in the listing of Registered Cultural Heritage Sites in Korea by the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea. Also, it is a visitor attraction for Pacific Rim tourists. In 2011, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon described it as the only United Nations cemetery in the world.

Pamphlets available in multiple languages at entrance. The grounds are very well maintained and is policed to make sure visitors abide by the rules (ie no walking on the grass!). Enjoyed the quiet walk through, the monument was built in just over a year and a half which is impressive.
