The Catholic Church of Korea has been working on the restoration and restoration of the cathedral since 1953, when the Korean War broke out. At that time, the Korean Church was able to carry out this activity with the help of the American Catholic Relief Society and the USFK. In particular, the restoration and reconstruction of the cathedral was a great help for US troops. The representative churches built in this period are the Bishop of Uijeongbu, the Bishop of Bishop of Uijeongbu, the Bishop of Wonju Wondong, the Donam-dong of Seoul, and the Kimpo Cathedral. The common point of the cathedrals built at this time is a simple internal structure. It was transformed into a flat structure in the shape of a hall unlike the old days, by removing the columns (columns, pillars) that divide the space inside the cathedral. This type is referred to as the 'form transformation cattle church'. Perhaps in a short period of time with the support of the army, the church seems to have preferred the function and omited its formality. Another thing to notice is that the exterior is decorated with stone such as granite and the bell tower is placed in the center of the front. It was to show the emotional stability that God's strong protection from the cathedral was as strong a fortress as those who had suffered the war. The Kanggok-ri cathedral, located on Hwajeongro 466, 51, Paju City, Gyeonggi Province, shows the transitional architectural style of crossing from Western style cathedral style to Korean style cathedral. Built in 1955, this cathedral is characteristic of the cathedral, but there is a distinctive feature that breaks the frame. Just put a column in the cathedral and gave it a sense of space and depth. The prototype of this cathedral was the bishopric of the Uijongbu, which was consecrated in 1953. It is called the twin because it is the same cathedral that has been modeled as it is, but the Kanggokri Cathedral has a more linear shape. The Kanggok - ri Cathedral was built with the help of a marine fleet of US marines, Edward Matino, and a Korean marine soldier, Kim Chang - seok (Ta Dao). Of course, the sacrifices of the gallantry believers are the basis for this. Believers were devoted to building churches with their own shovels and pickaxes, and buying building materials with the money they collected. It is a historic cousin, and the cathedral is located in the middle of the town. It is good to be able to look at all the appearance of the cathedral because it is located at the place which is very convenient. In addition, the five-sided semicircular apps of the altar (the space in the back of the umbilical cord) form a vertical line and are neatly processed to form a strange sympathy with the outer wall granite. In addition, the bell tower, window frames on both side walls, the front door and the side door are treated in a straight line to reveal firmness and strength. It seems as though our faith is confined to God only, without shaking like this cathedral. The altar, divided into five apps, is decorated with stone reliefs, false negatives, crucifixes, and color paintings symbolizing the Eucharist. Especially, it has a square cross with the same length on both sides of the middle wall, and two color pigments on both sides symmetrically around it. The windows on both sides are decorated with color paintings symbolizing the main contents of the New and Old Testament and the church. Simplicity than glamor stimulates the sensitivity to beauty. As the church becomes clear by emptying, the Galgonri Cathedral, which is filled only with what is necessary for the past, shows the will of the believers that they will not lose the pure heart of their faith in Jesus. In particular, the rosaries placed on the cushions of the new magnet seem to dissolve their strong minds for faith in their daily lives. The cathedral doors are open for anyone to come and pray. It is a silent place except for the noise that is spitters from the nearby remicon factories and military bases. The stone-built cathedral fills the tall fir and all-day sunlight to block the wind blowing from the valleys, and the lawn fills with the new life of green creates a warm scene. Galgok (葛 谷) literally means '칡 valley'. It was called 'Chulul' or 'Chulul' because of the village. So it is called the Chilul public service. It was 1898 when believers began to gather here. It was the year when the Bishop of Myeongdong Cathedral was dedicated. It is a long nesting place for faith, but it is because the people who live in prayer live in mountains, nature, churches and there will always be renewed. So there are a lot of priests and capital sanctuaries here. The first priest of the Korean priesthood is Kim Chih-ho (St. Benedict's), a priest of Choi Gyeong-moo (former Gwangju University), and a priest Kim Nam-soo (Luca, In particular, many of the nuns who came from this area joined the Orthodox Order. It would be because all of them lived by the example of the adults who had lived well and looked at the Lord as great as the appearance of the Galgoldi Cathedral.
