1. Overall clean, but there were LOTS OF ANTS(I mean, the bug). 2. Slightly weak water pressure. 3. You have to make it sure your room is not overbooked. One of our 2 rooms(for 3 persons) was double-booked, so that we were asked, WITHOUT ANY APOLOGY, to move to a smaller room(for 2 persons). 4. While our room was downgraded, again, without any apology, the owner insisted that we should pay the same price. The point she argued was that we have to pay for the extra person staying in the room for 2 persons, and thus she was not obliged to pay us back for the unilateral downgrade. In other words, she said that a room for 2 persons with 3 persons to stay equals a room for 3 persons with 3 persons staying, while it was she who downgraded the room. It was so baffling. 5. The owner hears to us very selectively or arbitrarily. YOU REALLY HAVE TO CHECK MULTIPLE TIMES YOUR ROOM IS SAFELY BOOKED. The owner, after observing she made the room overbooked, gave us two options. One, 2 nights in the room for 2 persons, two, 1 night in the room for 2 persons and 1 night in the room for 3 persons. We clearly said via text message, that we prefer the former. At the time we arrived, she blatantly asserted that we have not told her our preference, and unilaterally booked us for the latter option. 6. When we raised our concerns, SHE SAID THAT IT WAS OUR FAULT SINCE WE DID NOT CANCEL OUR BOOKING when she first notified us that the triple room was not available (due to her faults). 7. Nice location(close to attractions), overall tidiness were points that made us satisfactory. However, the small size of the room, existence of ants, weak water pressure, and most importantly, the disappointing response from the owner for her overbooking, made us feel so bad. 8. Overall OK, except the attitude of the owner. 1. 전반적으로 깨끗한 숙소이나, 방에 개미가 많았음. 2. 수압이 다소 약함. 3. 예약시 오버부킹이 되지 않았는지 재차 확인이 필요함. 우리가 예약한 2개 방 중 1개의 방이 주인의 실수로 중복 예약되어, 더 늦게 예약했던 우리 팀이 더 좁은 방으로 옮겨야 했으나, 주인은 이에 대해 제대로 사과하지 않았음. 4. 오버부킹으로 인해 우리 팀의 숙소가 예기치 않게 다운그레이드되었으나, 숙박요금은 이전과 동일하게 청구하려고 하였음. 3인실에서 2인실로 다운그레이드되면 2인실에 3명이 숙박하게 되므로, 2인실에 1명의 인원이 추가되므로 추가요금이 부과된다는 독특한 계산방식을 주장함. 5. 주인이 손님과의 커뮤니케이션을 선택적으로 받아들이는 경향이 있으므로, 예약상황에 변동이 있을 경우 문자메세지 이외의 여러 가지 수단으로 반드시 여러 번 확인할 필요가 있음. 원래 우리 팀은 3인실에 2박 숙박할 예정이었으나, 오버부킹으로 인해 주인이 (1) 2인실 1박 후 3인실 1박 또는 (2) 2인실 2박이 가능하다고 하였음. 그래서 2인실에서 2박 숙박하겠다고 분명하게 문자메세지로 의사를 전달하였음. 그러나 예약 당일 숙소에 도착하고 나니 주인은 우리에게 확답을 들은 적이 없다며 자기 마음대로 2인실 1박 후 3인실에 1박 숙박하는 것으로 우리 팀의 방을 배정해놓았음. 6. 그래서 불만을 제기하자, 오버부킹 사실을 알았을 때 예약을 취소하지 않은 우리 팀에 잘못이 있다는 식으로 말함. 7. 관광 명소와 가깝고 숙소도 깨끗한 편이지만, 좁은 방 크기, 개미, 낮은 수압 때문에 다소 불편하였음. 결정적으로 오버부킹에 대한 주인의 대처가 매우 불만족스러움. 8. 오버부킹에 대한 주인의 이해할 수 없는 대처만 제외하면 전반적으로는 나쁘지 않은 숙소임.

Pretty and affordable, in a reasonably good location between most sights and the bus station. The facilities are minimal, the shower spills to the entire bathroom floor (no cabin or separation), and the windows and everything else are padded with bubble wrap (I guess so dumb tourists don't break the paper), which takes all the charm and immersion away.

Disappointing. 1. Satisfactory points - clean. - accessible kitchen. - location. 2. Unsatisfactory points - overbooked, and no apology. - lots of ants, I was bitten while sleeping. - the owner was usually nice, but extraordinarily rude on certain occasions.

I think this might be the best hanok in Gyeongju: great position, very nice atmosphere (traditional rooms, wonderful garden and possibility of using the kitchen for tea or coffee at any time) and super-clean (the room, bathroom and kitchen were sparkling), its owner is simply a wonderful lady (for her warm welcoming, kindness and willingness, definitely the best person met in South Korea)! So good vibes and memories.
