Visited this place last year, decided to write a review after seeing the photos. This is a must visit place in Bukchon Hanok Village. We stumbled into it when we saw a sign on the main road as we were walking past. The place is well preserved and it gives you a glimpse into the lives of the past high society. Unfortunately we couldn't enter the house as it is only for those who booked the tours in advance so do make your reservations before coming. Best of all it's free.

This was such a fun experience! Our friend booked the tour ahead of time for us (this is a must if you want a guided tour) and it was free! We were able to go on an English tour with a woman who spoke beautiful English and was very charming. The architecture and the history behind the house was fascinating. I strongly recommend stopping by at the very least if you are in the area.

This was well worth the visit!! In some ways even more beautiful than the palaces, and very peaceful. We didn't do the guided tour because we didn't book in advance, but I think it would have been worthwhile to do so!

Very well maintained beautiful modernized Korean traditional housing and offers Korean/English guided tour that you can learn more interesting information about the architecture, stories of owners and related Korean history. Really enjoyed.

Very well preserved the status of house from the construction. Built in 1913. Doctor Baek In-je was the third owner of the house. His widow lived until 2008. Then they donated this house to Seoul city(officially sold to the city but it was far below the market price). Only people who booked the guided tour(free), can enter the inside of beautiful houses. Main buildings, bed rooms, guest rooms, kitchen, upper cottage, etc. For English tour, only 16:00 on Fridays. Rest of the tours 4 ~5 times a day are in Korean. Watching the old time antiques is also fun. Admission is free.
