Good value hotel to stay at before hiking in Seoraksan A good, affordable hotel to sleep in before you go hiking in Seoraksan. One thing to note - It's an Asian style futon bed that you'll set up yourself (see picture). The middle of the floor is heated, so that's where you'll want to set up the futon. Unrelated to the hotel itself: If you're busing around and arriving at sokcho - make sure you don't arrive too late that the buses aren't running anymore, as it'd be a long cab ride otherwise. If you're hiking seoraksan during the off season, stock up on lunch before heading here; no gimbap in the few convenience stores that were open around here. Room type: Single room Amenities • Hair dryer: Y • Included towels: Y • Included breakfast: 7:30-9:30 free self serve breakfast of toast with butter and jam, ramen, coffee, and tea Misc • Location: Good. At the far end of the village that's close to Seoraksan, but it's not too far; About 30-40 min walk to the main gate Value: Very good - Reasonably priced despite being right by the national park

For anyone interested in visiting Seoraksan National Park (which should be a must when traveling in South Korea), Gomstay Resort is a great choice for accommodation. I am a Danish exchange student who's spending half a year studying at a university in Seoul. Went to Seoraksan for a weekend to see the gorgeous nature here. At Gomstay, the service is great. There is a free basic breakfast with coffee in the morning from 8:30 to 9:30. There's free WiFi. The staff is super friendly, sweet, and down to earth - easily the best part of my stay! They also speak good enough English to answer any questions I may have had. It's family run, so you feel very much at home. The rooms are really nice, as well! I stayed in the 6-person male dormatory. The beds we're firm, but surprisingly comfortable. Both the beds and the bathroom looked new and clean! The shower has many different settings -- which is rare to find in South Korean hotels! Gomstay Resort is more of a hotel than a resort, but it's worth the price, for sure! 5/5

The interior was renovated and cleaner than I thought ... An outdoor barbecue party was set up. The price is really good at a low price if the summer vacation motel fee is only 150,000 won .. Oh, the air conditioner is LG ~~ ㅋㅋ
