I did my undergrad at Amherst College, and still remember the first time I stepped on campus. I was in awe of the beauty of the campus, the caliber of the students, and passion of the teachers. Geumgang renewed that sense of wonder and excitement I got when I first started at Amherst. I taught computer science here during my PhD studies at Yale and it was a career changing opportunity. The unique challenges I faced teaching computer science in a foreign country and culture gave me a new perspective as I consider jobs in academia. At every step of the way, I had the support of the administration and the students. The campus is also beautiful and secluded, lending itself to getting great research done. Although remote, I was never bored on campus. In addition to always working, there were many fun student events to attend. Additionally, I loved going for hikes on the mountain and visiting the temples on campus.

A very old and well-built building at the foot of Gyeryongsan Mountain. Healing by itself.

Sangwol Sweet Potato Festival 11 times at Kumgang University ~~ Although it's not big, I think it was good to make children's sweet potato experience simple. For reference, it's packed full of small bags ... anything else.
