Weerapuran appu (පුරන් අප්පු) was executed by a firing squad on August 8, 1848. His body was buried in Matale. His memorial situated in front of the park promises. Most of all V.T Nanayakara Park is a Historical Place.

seems a poor management. Mediocre nature park. Mostly visited by couples. Has a compost fertiliser outlet with reasonable pricing. This place mostly used for wedding pre-shoots but nothing much to see there.You need to show NICs to enter anyway its the best place in the city to hang out with your loved ones.
