Handungamuwa Hospital

Situated infront of Handungamuwa school. Only basic treatment are provided. Running with least medical facilities. Patients are sending to Mahiyangana hospital for further treatments.

I was once the MOIC in this institution. Worked there 4 1/2 years with least facilities. Very difficult station. Good people. Nice ecology. Missed those days.

A hospital with minimal infrastructure facilities. Wild elephants cross the hopital premises at night. The only health care provider in wasgamuwa area. The saff is in a strugle providing a good service inspite of lack of facilities. There is no good qality drinking water in the hopitail, only hard water. Hospital well is dried up completely in every August. You can see a lot of wild animals such as peacoks, star turtles , rabbits even elephants within hospital premises .
