Gedawana rock island is located in Ambalangoda just 0.5km off from the shore. It is the smallest sanctuary in Sri Lanka (some says it is the smallest in Asia). The villagers said this island is occupied with seagulls in the past. However may be due to human activities in the island, it seems seagulls have abandoned the island. You can take a boat ride to the island and it seems there is a natural pool in the island. Just leave your foot steps when you return and don’t disturb the wild life when you are there...
