The Other Corner

The other corner is a eco friendly resort built to conserve the natural habitat. Ideal place for nature lovers. Variety of Birds, Butterfly, Reptiles mingle with nature. Tasty food available for all meals. Very friendly staff who eagerly wait to support you.

Peaceful location covered with trees to cut the extreme heat. Located right at the edge to the habarana lake's other corner. Friendly staff, good food, basic lodging in wood cabins. Good place to relax and enjoy the wilderness.

We had a great relaxing time in December 2020, beautiful place to unwind and be with nature. Expectations were for a hot & humid atmosphere, however it was extremely pleasant mornings and cold nights. The in-house GM & Naturalist is well versed in spotting varied species of birds in the property and also on the hike around the Habarana lake which borders resort. The highlight was the trip to Ritigala Monastery and of course the good food. A place not to be missed by nature lovers 😍

I went there with my family and 6 other families for a 1-day stay. We have to park the vehicle outside near the road and cross the hanging bridge. It is a bit unsafe and some of our belongings fell down. We were surprised as no human was found until we walk to the near the restaurant. Then we met the manager. No welcome drinks, etc straight to the room. As we all know when kids are on holidays they plan and make a sound. This manage complains us very rudely, not to make any sound. We all surprised and how can we ask kids to be silent on a holiday. We had some argument with the manager. He was a rude person who didn't know about hospitality. We had a very bad experience at dinner. They started serving around 8:30 pm. First, they served the soup, it was horrible. It looks like put some small vegetable particles to the boiling water. No taste at all. Then they took over half an hour to serve starters. It was a salad no taste at all. After another 45 minutes, they served mains. It is just boiled vegetables and a chicken part. The chicken was just boiled and pour some source on it. No taste at all. Surprisingly everyone served with chicken. No option for people does not eat chicken. One lady asked for fish and manager rudely said No Fish! Then she asked for an egg, he said we will be charged. We all in here on full board basis and very disappointing with there food and service. We checkout without having lunch there. We all very disappointed and never recommend anyone else.

Myself and my family was there last weekend for 3 nights. If you are a true nature lover this is the spot for you. If you are afraid of a few bugs and frogs, you don't enjoy the nature and this is not the place for you. The resort is within part of a jungle right by the Habarana lake. The atmosphere was wonderful and chilled. The staff was exceptional and I have never experienced a service as good as what they provide. The people were genuine and very helpful. I would visit this place again just because of the amazing service. The food was amazing specially the local plates. The kitchen always accommodated our requests. We extended our 3 nights to 4 because we didn't want to leave. Thank you everyone.
