Athreya Ayurvedic Hotel And Spa

As a beauty therapist I was keen to explore treatments abroad & our driver suggested this spa to be authentically ayurvedic. The location was beautiful. I had the body massage with a steam bath. My therapist was nice & the treatment included a good pressure. Unfortunately client privacy & discretion was limited. Treatment options were discussed with a lady at the front desk with no time given for a separate private consultation & we were not informed we would be sharing a room. On entering, the therapist directly asked if I was pregnant. However if I was, it should be my choice if I chose to share this information with whoever I'm sharing a room with. I also had to request a room divider, for the curtain to be drawn. During the treatment, towel etiquette was limited & not given a choice or informed in being exposed both at my breasts & bottom. This made me not feel as relaxed as I would have hoped. Unfortunately noise was also an issue as disturbed by a lawn mower sound & others chatting outside. The therapist did inform them to be quiet. However, she later then started chatting quietly to the other therapist during my treatment for 5 minutes making me feel very uncomfortable, especially as no idea what they were saying. I was then guided into the steam bath heated from the ground with leaves on top which was a nice experience. At the end of the treatment, we made our way to the exit but were not given any aftercare knowledge & later heard tea is normally provided. This was more odd as my room partner had been waiting for me to finish.

The place is famous for its massage and spa services. We opted for the massage and it was good for what they offer. They claim to use a custom oil which is made using their combination of herbs and yes, it did seem to provide some much needed relief during the massage. You can either opt for the full body massage or could ask them only for a head massage instead.

Such a wonderful experience. And totally body relaxation with well trained therapists. Loved it and definitely will be back.

Best ayruvedic spa in Habarana, Sri Lanka. Can't believe how wonderful is the whole process. A must place if you looking for a real treatment and a steam bath. Very hostile people with their beautiful and polite smile. Bookings is a must because they're very popular. Our whole family and friends got the treatment after we recommend it. Will definitely comeback again once we visit Sri Lanka again. Highly recommended..... Best experience we had ever. A+++
